Job Title: Maintenance PLC Technician
Location: Hayesville (1st & 2nd Shift)

Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex manufacturing and facility equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role supports automated production systems and requires advanced mechanical, electrical, and PLC troubleshooting skills. The ideal candidate is a top-level, multi-craft technician who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and plays a key role in minimizing downtime and improving equipment reliability.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated manufacturing equipment and facility systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic components.
- Diagnose equipment failures using PLCs, HMIs, ladder logic, and I/O monitoring; support limited PLC/HMI adjustments and fault correction.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to reduce downtime and prevent repeat failures.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, control wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve issues quickly and maintain efficient operations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and work orders using CMMS systems.
- Follow all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and plant safety procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other maintenance team members as needed.
- Two-year degree or formal trade training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical, Automation, or related field, OR
- Multi-craft technician training, OR
- Relevant vendor training, technical classes, or certificates of competence.
- 3+ years of experience as a multi-craft maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with PLC-controlled equipment, VFDs, automated systems, and CMMS platforms.
- Experience with rigging equipment and machinery installation preferred.
- Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, ladder logic, and industrial control systems.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electronics systems.
- Ability to prioritize work, solve complex problems, and work independently.
- Strong computer, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in industrial environments.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and differentiate colors.
- Exposure to noise, machinery, dust, and varying temperatures.
