What to Do
Botanical Gardens
Designed by Denis Griffiths, the golf course winds through wildlife preserves, ponds and streams framed in by the mountains. With five sets of tees, all skill levels will be able to enjoy a layout that is maintained to standards you'd expect.
Featuring five miles of trails, the new Stables primarily offers one- and two-hour guided mountain trail rides, accommodating all experience levels, from beginner to advanced.
Visit this enchanted treasure which boasts the largest collection of rhododendrons and native azaleas in the Southeastern United States. This 33-acre botanical garden is also filled with wildflowers, dogwoods, maples and many other native plants and trees.
Visitors are asked to use an "honor system entry fee" when accessing the Garden’s 1.5 mile mulched trail, where garden and lake views abound! While the Garden is beautiful all year around, early April through mid-May is host to “A Blooming Affair at Hamilton Gardens” where visitors are treated to a spectacular array of color.
Hamilton Gardens at Lake Chatuge is located at 96 Pavilion Road, Hiawassee, GA.
