The Campus Pastor’s main focus will be working closely with the Lead Pastor to oversee the Hiawassee location of Vertical Church and helping pastor the people, raise up disciples, and steward the resources God has entrusted to Vertical Church.  
This position is a part-time hourly position, working 15 hours per week (typically Sunday through Thursday), some evenings will be required as well as possible extended hours during Christmas, Easter and core events. 
Responsibilities:

  1. Overseeing pastoral care of the Hiawassee location with the Lead Pastor.
    1. Pastoral care can be discipleship, counseling, mentoring, and the overall care for the people of the church and needs.
  2. Working with the deacons to help oversee ministries inside and outside the church.
  3. Overseeing volunteer team leaders and any needs/resources the different volunteer teams have.
  4. Helping set up anything needed on Sunday mornings for church.
  5. Overseeing any building needs and for Vertical Church and keeping the Lead Pastor updated on any upcoming needs for the building of the Hiawassee location.
  6. Managing all resources needed for the volunteer teams and making sure they are equipped.

You will be looking after:
  • Overseeing related budget line items to help meet needs both inside of Vertical Church and our local community. 
  • Maintaining all equipment needed for Vertical Church functioning.
  • Assisting with core projects/events. 
  • Overseeing quarterly preventative maintenance for church vehicle(s), building, and other Vertical Church assets to ensure the church stewards well what God has given.
  • Coordinating hospital visits with elders and deacons, checking on those in need inside of Vertical, and leading the care team to minister to the church. 
  • Attending all staff meetings, debrief meetings, and additional meetings as required. 
  • Helping accomplish projects and tasks assigned by the Lead Pastor to advance the mission and vision of Vertical Church.
You ideally have:
  • Bachelor’s, Associate or Technical Degree in a relevant field and 2+ years’ experience or…
  • 4+ years’ experience in a church leadership environment. 
  • Proven ability to manage volunteer teams and coordinate roles in a growing ministry.  
  • Demonstrated leadership with experience training, managing and mentoring volunteers.
  • Ability to oversee multiple volunteers/events at once. 
  • Desire to consistently grow as a Campus Pastor and maximize the ministries of the church.
  • A passion for community engagement and service projects.
  • A servant’s heart who values seeing details come together to accomplish the vision of Vertical Church.
