Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year Tournament
B.A.S.S. To Host Toyota Bassmaster Angler Of The Year Championship In September
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — B.A.S.S., the world’s largest fishing organization, will host the Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year Championship, September 20-23, in Young Harris, Ga. This event marks the first time B.A.S.S. has held the AOY tournament on Lake Chatuge.
The 2018 Bassmaster Elite Series culminates with the $1 million Angler of the Year Championship, and only the Top 50 anglers in Toyota Angler of the Year (AOY) points standings after the Huk Bassmaster Elite at St. Lawrence River presented by Black Velvet (Aug. 23-26) are eligible to compete in the prestigious tournament.
Earning a spot in this season-ending derby is no easy accomplishment. Participation is based upon performance — specifically, the number of AOY points earned across the entire Bassmaster Elite Series season.
In addition to more than $1 million in prize money, at stake are the coveted title of 2018 Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year and — for at least the Top 35 anglers — a berth in the 2018 “Super Bowl of Bass Fishing,” the Bassmaster Classic presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods.
The full field will compete for three days, (Thursday, Friday and Sunday). The Bassmaster Elite Series Outdoors Expo and Bassmaster University will take place on Saturday. The fan-appreciation day will be held in the Expo area at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds, where the pros will be giving seminars, signing autographs and engaging with fans on a personal level.
From watching the first boats take off at 7 a.m. ET on Thursday, Sept. 20 to the final weigh-in at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds on Sunday at 3:45 p.m., all activities are family-friendly and open to the public.
