Get Out with the Guys and Explore Lake Chatuge

Sometimes you just need to get away and enjoy some time with the fellas. Whether it’s a trip with your closest friends, a father-son vacation or a retreat for multiple generations of men in the family, Lake Chatuge has everything you need for the ideal guys’ getaway. We’ve rounded up a few activities and dining options that’ll make your boys think you’re the man on your Lake Chatuge vacation.

Practice Your Swing on Our Putting Green

One of Lake Chatuge’s gems is the beautiful golf course that’s nestled in the mountains surrounding Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa. Praised by Golf Digest and Leading Golf Courses of America, this 18-hole course is one of the best you can find in Georgia. Practice your swing and enjoy stunning mountain scenery with your crew. Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa’s golf course is suited for all skill levels. The property is also home to a well-stocked Pro Shop and offers clinics and lessons through PGA professional Steve Phelps.

Hike Through Natural Wonderland

Lake Chatuge’s rolling mountainsides are dotted with many unique hiking trails that range in difficulty, giving you and your group plenty of options to explore and stretch those legs. Located just a few steps away from Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa’s golf course lies the Miller Trek, a low-difficulty trail that starts at the resort and loops through the Chattahoochee National Forest. The trail is divided into two paths, a 2.5-mile loop and a longer 6.5-mile loop for those looking for a few extra steps. All trails lead back to Brasstown, regardless of the direction you follow.

For a slight step up on the difficulty scale, venture to High Shoals Falls. This two-and-a-half-mile roundtrip hike will have you climbing up the Blue Ridge Mountains to reach its namesake waterfall, passing beautiful Blue Hole Falls along the way. While not the most challenging, the trail’s length and elevation make it a better fit for those who want a bit more adventure!
