ELDER LAW by Eddy Corn
5 Sessions, Wednesday, September 18 – October 16, 10:10 am– 12:10 pm
Class 1 – Do you have a co-pilot? This class will focus on the documents you need in place to allow your designated “co-pilot” to assist you in the event of illness or incompetency. Class 2 - Putting Affairs In Order Before Death. This class will focus on understanding documents needed in place before death, and understanding how non-probate assets are created. Class 3 – The Probate Process. This class will focus on what happens after death. Classes 4 and 5 – Understanding Trust Agreements. This class will review the advantages and disadvantages of a revocable trust. Differences in the laws of Georgia, Florida and North Carolina will be highlighted during the classes.
Eddy is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Georgia since 1982 and still maintains his CPA license. He is an attorney licensed to practice law in three states – Georgia, North Carolina and Florida. Eddy passed the Florida Bar Exam in 2014 to be admitted to practice law in Florida in an effort to better serve our second-home community. Eddy’s practice concentrates primarily in Elder Law, working in the areas of Wills, Trusts, Estate Planning and Estate and Trust Administration. Eddy is a native of Young Harris, Georgia. He married Georgia Corn in 1981. Together they have two children and two grandchildren. Eddy is an avid hiker and backpacker and enjoys trout fishing.
