Join us on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2023 at 7 p.m. in the Folk School’s Keith House Community Room for a concert and multi-media crankie show where dark and whimsical characters come to life on a hand-cranked scroll accompanied by live music and storytelling.
Hailing from the mountains of the Big Ivy Creek Valley, on unceded Tsalaguwetiyi land, Mother Marrow is a music project of Charity Cimarron. They present a dark, ritual folk expression, born out of a deep love of the natural world. The sound is elemental and powerful, often sending shivers down your spine. Bewitching and poignant, experience modern folk music with haunting vocal harmonies, finger-picking guitar, and banjo. The songs are written of Charity's striving towards beauty and truth, and with an understanding of the painful, magical process of transformation.
Our Friday Night Concerts in Keith House feature some of the finest regional and national acts performing eclectic roots music and offer something for everyone. We have standard seating, along with a family-focused social area in the library. Concerts are scheduled for most Fridays but check the schedule on our website to be sure. All are welcome at our concerts and dances; vaccinations and masks are not required.
